Career Guidance Meeting Between NTU “KhPI” Institutes and Chernivtsi Transport Professional College

Career guidance activities are an integral part of modern higher education institutions, as they help prospective applicants make informed decisions about their professional paths. On March 31, 2026, as part of such initiatives, the National Technical University “Kharkiv Polytechnic Institute” — specifically the Educational and Scientific Institute of Energy, Electronics and Electromechanics (EEE) and the Educational and Scientific Institute of Mechanical Engineering and Transport (MIT) — held a substantive meeting with students of Chernivtsi Transport Professional College. The Department of Electric Transport and Diesel Locomotive Engineering also played an active role in organizing and conducting the event, presenting one of the key areas of engineering education.

The meeting took place in an atmosphere of openness and mutual interest. Its main goal was to familiarize college students with opportunities for continuing their studies at NTU “KhPI,” the specifics of academic programs, and prospects for professional development in the fields of energy, transport, and mechanical engineering. University representatives aimed not only to provide information but also to form a comprehensive understanding of the modern labor market and the requirements for specialists.

The event began with presentations of the EEE and MIT institutes. Faculty members and administrative representatives spoke about the history and achievements of the university, its scientific schools, and international partnerships. Particular attention was paid to the material and technical base, modern laboratories, and opportunities for practical training. It was emphasized that NTU “KhPI” actively implements innovative educational approaches, combining classical engineering traditions with the latest technologies.

Representatives of the Department of Electric Transport and Diesel Locomotive Engineering provided a detailed overview of their academic program. They discussed key subjects studied by students, including electrical transport systems, traction drives, rolling stock design, and modern diagnostic methods. Special emphasis was placed on practical training carried out in cooperation with leading industry enterprises.

An important part of the meeting was dedicated to admission opportunities after graduating from college. Students were informed about entry requirements, the advantages of continuing education through accelerated programs, and the prospects of obtaining bachelor’s and master’s degrees. This information was especially valuable for those who had already chosen a technical field but were seeking the most effective path for further professional growth.

A particularly engaging element of the event was the live interaction. Students of Chernivtsi Transport Professional College actively asked questions about the educational process, dormitory accommodation, participation in research projects, and student life. University representatives provided detailed answers, shared their experiences, and aimed to comprehensively cover all aspects of studying at the university.

Employment prospects were also given special attention. Participants learned about the university’s partnerships with enterprises, internship and traineeship opportunities, and examples of successful graduate careers. It was emphasized that graduates of technical specialties are in steady demand on the labor market, especially in the fields of energy and transport.

For the college students, this meeting became an important step in shaping their professional orientation. They received not only theoretical information but also the opportunity to communicate directly with faculty and university representatives, which helped them better understand the specifics of future studies. Many participants noted that such events significantly facilitate the choice of further educational paths.

In concluding the event, the organizers emphasized the importance of continued cooperation between NTU “KhPI” and Chernivtsi Transport Professional College. It was expressed that such meetings would become regular and contribute to the training of highly qualified specialists capable of meeting the challenges of modern industry.

Thus, the career guidance meeting became a vivid example of effective cooperation between educational institutions of different levels. It demonstrated the importance of early professional orientation and confirmed that the National Technical University “Kharkiv Polytechnic Institute” remains one of the leading centers for engineering education in Ukraine, open to collaboration and development.
