NTU “KhPI” Open Days with Employers: Meeting of Students and Applicants with TAS Poltavvagon LLC

On April 7, 2026, as part of the Open Days at the National Technical University “Kharkiv Polytechnic Institute,” the Department of Electric Transport and Diesel Locomotive Engineering organized a meeting for students and prospective applicants with representatives of TAS Poltavvagon LLC.

Open Days at NTU “KhPI” are traditionally an important event for both students and future applicants. Within this initiative, the department arranged an informative and practice-oriented meeting with representatives of TAS Poltavvagon. The event provided an excellent opportunity for participants to gain insight into real working conditions in the field of transport mechanical engineering, learn about employment prospects, and ask questions directly to an employer.

The meeting was held in a warm and open atmosphere. Participants included students of various years, faculty members, and applicants planning to enroll at the university. The event began with welcoming remarks from department representatives, who emphasized the importance of cooperation with leading industry enterprises. It was noted that such meetings help students not only acquire theoretical knowledge but also understand the practical aspects of their future profession.

Representatives of TAS Poltavvagon then presented their company, outlining its history, core activities, and role in Ukraine’s transport industry. Special attention was given to modern technologies used in wagon manufacturing, as well as innovative approaches to the design and modernization of rolling stock. For many students, this became a valuable opportunity to see how university knowledge is applied in real-world practice.

During the presentation, the employers also подробно explained the requirements for young specialists. They emphasized that the company is interested in graduates who possess not only strong technical knowledge but also well-developed teamwork skills, responsibility, and a willingness for professional growth. Opportunities for internships, traineeships, and subsequent employment at the enterprise were also discussed.

Particular interest was generated by the live discussion segment. Students actively asked questions about working conditions, salary levels, career development, and the specifics of engineering work in production. Company representatives provided open and detailed answers, sharing their professional experience and real-life examples. This dialogue helped create a trusting atmosphere and allowed both sides to better understand each other’s expectations.

Prospective applicants, in turn, gained a unique opportunity to assess the prospects of their chosen field even before admission. They were able to see that studying at NTU “KhPI” opens real career opportunities in leading companies. For many, this became an important factor in choosing their future education path.

An equally important part of the event was the demonstration of real projects involving young specialists from the company. This allowed students to see how their knowledge can be applied in concrete engineering solutions. In addition, the importance of continuous professional development and further training during employment was emphasized.

The meeting concluded with a summary and expressions of gratitude from both sides. Faculty members highlighted the importance of such events in increasing student motivation, while company representatives noted the high level of preparation of future specialists. Participants left satisfied, having gained not only new knowledge but also valuable professional contacts.

Thus, the meeting with TAS Poltavvagon as part of the Open Days became a vivid example of effective cooperation between education and industry. It demonstrated that modern technical education is impossible without close ties to employers and confirmed that NTU “KhPI” is actively working to train competitive specialists who are in demand on the labor market.
