On April 30, 2026, the Department of Cross-Cultural Communication and Foreign Language held an annual online postgraduate conference “An Innovative Model of Research Projects Aimed at the Integration of Ukraine into the European Scientific Space”.
This year, the conference brought together more than 40 postgraduate students who are taking the course “Foreign Language for Communication in a Scientific and Pedagogical Environment” at the Department of Cross-Cultural Communication and Foreign Language. The Head of the Department, Professor, Doctor of Psychological Sciences Tetyana Viktorivna Sergeeva, addressed the participants of the scientific gathering with a welcoming speech. She emphasized the importance of holding such events, supporting scientific dialogue, exchanging ideas, research results and new approaches to solving scientific problems, congratulated the participants and organizers of the conference and wished success to all young scientists in their speeches. In addition to T.V. Sergeyeva, the following guests invited to the event also addressed the postgraduate students with welcoming speeches: Doreen Festeu, Professor of Buckinghamshire New University, Business and Law School Director (Buckinghamshire, the UK) and Matthew Tong, Professor, Senior Lecturer of Business and Law School, Buckinghamshire New University, (Buckinghamshire, the UK).
The conference demonstrated a unique example of synergy between different fields of knowledge: AI, chemistry, energy, mechanical and turbine engineering, new technologies, economics, etc. But they were all united by one goal – the integration and adaptation of Ukraine to the European Research Area in the context of the new paradigm. The event gave young scientists the opportunity to present their scientific achievements, actively participate in discussions, form new directions for their scientific activities, receive professional questions and constructive feedback, and develop skills in public speaking and scientific debates.
The participants showed not only a thorough knowledge of the topics, but also demonstrated a high level of critical analysis and the ability to argue their own position. We would like to note that in the first year of their studies, postgraduate students not only gain experience in participating in an international conference through a report with a presentation in English according to international standards, but also have the opportunity to make their first publication, in which the scientific supervisor and a foreign language teacher provide interdisciplinary support. Thus, the conference became another step in the development of young Ukrainian researchers, who are already integrating into the modern scientific space of our country and shaping its future.
As a result of the conference, a collection of abstracts will be published.
We thank everyone for their participation and fruitful work and wish young scientists the realization of their bold ideas and significant scientific achievements!
