The head of the Department of Management presented the “Spark” Startup Center to a delegation from NAQA

On August 20, 2026, a delegation from the National Agency for Higher Education Quality Assurance (NAQA) visited NTU “KhPI”: Agency Head Nataliia Stukalo, Vice-Head Ivan Nazarov, and Head of the Department of Public Relations and International Cooperation Maksym Folomieiev. The visit was dedicated to discussing issues related to ensuring the quality of higher education, academic integrity, improving educational programs, and accreditation.

During the visit, the agency representatives met with the university administration and were informed about the infrastructure, educational, and research capabilities of NTU “KhPI.” The guests were particularly interested in the presentation on the “Spark” Startup Center, which was given by the center’s director, Head of the Department of Management, and Professor Natalia Shmatko. She spoke about the center’s activities, approaches to supporting student startup initiatives, and the unit’s role in developing students’ entrepreneurial competencies as an integral part of quality higher education.

The fact that KhPI has its own startup center gives students the opportunity, starting in their first year, to get involved in real-world projects, receive mentoring support, and try their hand at bringing their own business ideas to life. Participation in the startup movement is an important component of training future managers, as it allows them to gain practical skills in project management, decision-making under conditions of uncertainty, and teamwork while still in school.
