The participation of the teachers of the «Occupational Safety and Environmental Safety» department of NTU «KhPI» in science festivals, in particular, in International Day of Light as part of the UNESCO World Initiative, has already become traditional. This year, the commemoration of this event took place on May 24 at the Poltava Polytechnic College of NTU «Kharkiv Polytechnic Institute», which is celebrating its 80th anniversary this year.
Student science has always been one of the most powerful foundations for the formation of applicants as qualified specialists. Immersing in scientific experiments, students acquire both theoretical knowledge and practical skills on the topic of their research. In this they are helped by their academic supervisors of our department. A strong team of our scientific and pedagogical workers performed such work this year as well. It should be said that the scientific works presented by students for competitions are achievements not only of this academic year.

From January 17 to 24, 2024, in accordance with the order of the vice-rector of NTU “KhPI” R.P. Mygushchenko. for the purpose of critical assessment and improvement of the learning strategy, as well as receiving feedback from students, the Department of Occupational and Environmental Safety conducted a survey of students of 1-6 courses through the heads of student academic groups. Out of 53 students currently studying at the department in full-time and part-time study, 38 students took part in the survey.
State certification of masters was held at the Department of Occupational Safety and Environment. The head of the DEC is the head of the Department of Computer Modeling and Integrated Pressure Processing Technologies, Dсcs., professor V.L. Chuhlib, as well as the members of the DEC are professor V.V. Berezutskyi, professor S.O. Vambol, associate professor N.S. Yevtushenko. and secretary Ilyinska N.V. for three days, full-time and part-time master’s degree graduates were examined.
On December 7-8, 2023, the department held the XV International Scientific and Methodological Conference and the EAS International Scientific Conference «Human Safety in Modern Conditions» in online format. More than 92 abstracts of reports were submitted to the conference, with the number of participants – 190. Most of the reports were devoted to life safety during war and military operations.
Today, 8.12.2023, master’s students who studied in specialty 263 “Civil Security” educational program “Occupational safety and health” successfully passed the certification exam. We wish them success in life and professional activities. Passing the state exam became an integral part of the professional development of masters, they adequately met the expectations of teachers and confirmed their status as experts in the field of occupational health and safety.
