Automation is the artificial intelligence of a modern enterprise
During many thousands of years of development of civilization, man has repeatedly made attempts to replace the manual work of maintaining the level and temperature with mechanical devices. However, only in the last 100 years, the problem of creating such devices became the main task of a new industry – automation.
Modern man is surrounded by devices with automatic functions: elevators, automatic doors, traffic lights, alarm clocks, household appliances and much more. Most people perceive the operation of such devices as a natural part of everyday life and do not think about how complex the processes underlying the manufacture and operation of these devices are.
But automation has gained the greatest importance in enterprises. At the first industrial enterprises, technological process management was carried out manually. But with the increase in production capacity and the complexity of technologies, such management became impossible. To solve this problem, they began to create special devices that allowed controlling the technological process without human intervention. Such devices began to be called automatic devices for control or regulation. Later, instrument making became a separate branch, and the problems of selecting instruments and creating control systems based on them were taken up by automation specialists.
The complexity of creating effective technological process management systems led to the division of automation as a branch into narrow profiles:
automation of food production
automation of chemical production
automation of oil and gas processing processes
automation of housing and communal services, transport and the like.
Recently, automation systems began to be built on the basis of computing devices, computers and microprocessors. Special software was developed for the creation and operation of such systems. Only competent specialists who understand the principles of automation, computer systems and know modern programming languages can service such complexes.
Automatic control systems (ACS) are a technical analogue of human intelligence. Modern ACS are built on the basis of digital devices – computers and microprocessors. The basis of such systems is complex software that uses both simple calculation algorithms and algorithms based on neural networks and fuzzy logic. The latter are the basis of artificial intelligence. The modern field of automation has several directions related to the development and application of devices and software. SAU is used to manage any modern processes and productions.
Thus, a modern enterprise functions almost without human intervention. Intervention in the work of the enterprise is necessary only in the event of an emergency – an accident or equipment breakdown. Many enterprises have introduced remote control via the Internet or via mobile applications.
Our department trains such specialists for any industry. In the course of study, students get acquainted with the methods and constructions of control and management tools, software of control systems, modern programming languages of computers and microprocessor devices, accompanying software, as well as the fundamentals of developing automatic control systems.

What does it give our graduates?
Already in the 3rd-4th year, our students establish contacts with IT companies for work in their specialty. They have the possibility of part-time employment for 5-6 courses. High-paying jobs in the field of automation and IT technologies: currently our graduates hold management positions in many enterprises.
