News about our students studying under the Erasmus+ program: Tartu. Dormitory

My name is Kateryna Reshetnyak and I am a student in the MIT-622 group at the Department of OandES. This semester, i was fortunate enough to participate in the Erasmus student exchange program in Tartu, Estonia. Daria Romanova (MIT-624), a student from our department, is also studying on this program with me.
To be honest, this is my first experience of this kind, spending an entire semester studying and living in a dormitory abroad.
I have been here for three weeks now, and I would like to share my impressions of the living conditions.

Everyone was concerned about the dormitory. What would it be like, who would be their neighbors, and other questions. However, I can say with complete confidence that I like everything!
I live on the third floor. We have separate blocks, each containing three rooms for two people. We have a shared shower and kitchen in our block. There are five girls living in my block and we get on really well. We are all from different countries, which is a wonderful experience for improving my English and my ability to explain everyday things.
The dormitory has 6 floors, a laundry room, and large recreation areas. We also provide cleaning services every Friday with bed linen replacement.
Fire safety is taken very seriously here. There are specially installed doors on each floor to prevent the spread of fire in case of a fire, highly sensitive smoke detectors, and more. We’ve already had two visits from 911, but nothing terrible happened. The first time, someone’s food burned, and the second time, the alarm went off even when someone sprayed insect repellent!

My academic building:
The university has different buildings for different departments. I spend 80% of my time at the Delta Center (photo below).
However, I will talk about education later…
