This academic year, distance career guidance work regarding admission to the J4 “Occupational health and safety” specialty and the “Occupational health and safety” educational program began almost at the start of the school year, namely in September. The second remote career guidance event was held on September 30, 2025, with students from Kharkiv lyceum №141, with the active support and assistance of the lyceum administration – Deputy Director for Educational Work – Tetiana Volodymyrivna Saitz. This event was conducted by a group of teachers, including prof. Liudmyla Vaskovets, assoc. prof. Eugene Yascheritsin and senior lecturer Larysa Yashchenko. Fifteen 11th-grade students participated in the event.
During both events, associate professor Eugene Yascheritsin told the audience about NTU “KhPI”, the advantages of studying there, in particular, in the J4 “Occupational health and safety” specialty, various aspects of both last year’s admission campaign to higher education institutions and preparations for this year’s campaign, which is already underway. In turn, prof. Liudmyla Vaskovets spoke about the prospects for employment and career growth after completing studies in the J4 specialty “Occupational health and safety”.
Speaking to students, associate professor Eugene Yascheritsin organically combined the presentation with information about the specialty with demonstration measurements using the instruments of the training laboratory of the Department of Occupational and Environmental Safety of certain parameters of harmful and hazardous production factors, namely temperature – with a Mestek IR01C pyrometer, and air velocity – with VTMETER BT-816V vane anemometers and MS-13 cup anemometers.
An important part of the career guidance event was the presentation by senior lecturer Larysa Yashchenko of the department’s international relations in the context of internships and obtaining a double degree for students majoring in J4 “Occupational health and safety” at a European higher education institution – Jan Długosz University in Częstochowa (Poland). This academic year, during the fall semester, D. Romanova, a student in the MIT-624 group and K.
