Research Profile
Research focuses on Solid Mechanics, Continuum Damage Mechanics, and the development of new software tools for Mechanical Engineering and industry. Is the author of the theory of the creep of solids subjected to cyclic thermo-mechanical and irradiation loading involving the accumulation of hidden damage in material. These theoretical developments have been applied to strength analyses of gas turbine engine components, reactor vessel internals, and coke oven batteries. Specific research areas include assessing the deformation and strength of UAV panels, including those made from metamaterials, and determining the thermal and stress-strain states of aerospace equipment components. Is the author of specialized software for the finite-element modeling of 2D and 3D as well as shells of revolution problems, and a co-author of software for information systems designed to analyze the physical and mechanical properties of steels and alloys.
Proposed PhD Research Areas
1Mathematical modeling of fracture processes in solids: development of mathematical models for deformation, damage accumulation, and fracture in solids; development and refinement of finite element models.
2Mathematical modeling of deformation and strength processes in UAV structural elements: development of mathematical models for deformation, damage accumulation, and fracture of UAV structural elements under thermo-mechanical and impact loads; development and refinement of finite element models.
3Mathematical modeling of deformation processes and service life assessment of nuclear reactor vessel internals: development of mathematical models for deformation, damage accumulation, and fracture of nuclear reactor core components under the influence of thermo-mechanical and irradiation fields; development and refinement of finite element models.
