A meeting was held with first-year students who have begun their studies in the J4 “Occupational health and safety” program. The event was attended by professor S. Vambol, head of the Department of Occupational and Environmental Safety, N. Yevtushenko, advisor to first-year students and T. Sokolova, senior lecturer in the department.
During the meeting, the freshmen had the opportunity to learn about the specifics of the educational program, the organization of the academic process, and the main areas of training for future occupational safety and health professionals.
The department chair introduced the students to the department’s activities, discussed the specifics of the program, opportunities for professional development, and the importance of high-quality theoretical and practical training. Particular attention was paid to the role of occupational safety specialists in modern enterprises, as well as to issues related to the prevention of workplace hazards and injuries and the creation of safe working conditions.
The first-year student advisor drew the students’ attention to issues related to adapting to this new stage of their studies, the organization of the educational process, compliance with campus regulations, and where to turn for help if they have academic or organizational questions..
An important part of the meeting was the direct interaction with the students. The freshmen actively asked questions about their studies, coursework, practical training, participation in department events, and future employment prospects.
We wish our first-year students a successful start, an engaging learning experience, new knowledge, professional achievements, and confidence that they’ve made the right choice!
