The pedagogical activities of teachers of the department are primarily aimed at improving the culturological education of students, the formation of value attitude towards the world, the introduction of etiquette norms of behavior as a way of life. Traditional forms of pedagogical work include:

- scientific conference “Ukraine and the World: Humanitarian and technical elite and social progress”;
- conversations with students and cadets on topical issues in the history of culture, etiquette, important dates, public and religious holidays, discuss current issues of Ukraine’s cultural life and the world;
- Cooperation with massive department of Central technical library and Palace of students of NTU “KhPI” in carrying out cultural and educational activities;

- excursions to the Artistic, Historical, Ecclesiastical and Literary museums, Kharkiv planetarium and exhibitions in the AVEC gallery, the Houses of Architect and Artist;
- thematic lessons and tours in our department’s Gnat Khotkevych ethnographic museum “Slobozhansky Skarby”;
- competitions of creative works of students and cadets, photo contests, thematic exhibitions in our methodical study room;
- ethnographic and local lore expeditions
