International Parliament Scholarship 2022
The German Bundestag awards the International Parliamentary Scholarship (IPS) annually to politically interested young university graduates from Central, Eastern and Southeastern Europe, France, Israel, North America, South America, Central Asia, the Arab region, Southeast Asia and New Zealand. The IPS is aimed at young talents who want to get actively involved in basic democratic values in their home countries. The Bundestag gives these young people the opportunity to get to know the German parliamentary system and political decision-making processes and to gain practical experience in parliamentary work during a three-month activity with a member of the Bundestag. The aim of the program is also to promote and consolidate Germany’s relations with the participating countries.
The program runs from March 1 to July 31, 2022
The heart of the IPS is a three-month collaboration with a member of the Bundestag. The scholarship holders are actively involved in the work of a parliamentary office. They accompany their MPs to meetings of the committees, political groups and other bodies and thus gain insights into the functioning, interrelationships and procedures of Parliament. In addition, the scholarship holders regularly attend information programs and seminars organized by the Bundestag and the political foundations. The scholarship holders are also enrolled at the Humboldt University during the summer semester and can also take part in lectures and courses at the Free University and the Technical University.
Age limit: At the start of the program, the 30th year of life must not be completed.
Deadline: 31/07/2021
