Scientific activity

Main

The main scientific direction of the department is the development of mathematical models, methods, algorithms and information technologies for system analysis and management of complex technical, economic and social systems.

Among the variety of research objects, energy facilities, which are one of the main elements of the infrastructure of Ukraine, occupy a special place. The postgraduate and doctoral studies of the department have prepared and defended 4 doctoral and more than 10 candidate theses in the field of automation of control processes in various elements of power plants.

The department is also actively developing a scientific direction related to the analysis, optimization and justification of various options for the administrative and territorial reform of the Kharkiv region.

Scientific directions

• Development of non-connection models of artificial neural networks, methods for their construction and training
• Improvement of automatic heat supply control systems for buildings with individual heat points based on methods of modern control theory and progressive information technologies
• Modeling and optimization of complex dynamic systems control processes

Student scientific circles

Modern training in a technical higher educational institution requires students to master a large block of theoretical knowledge and practical skills.

Improving the quality of education largely depends on the student’s motivation and the use of innovative forms of learning in education. Student scientific circles allow students not only to improve the quality of professional knowledge, but also to choose a further specialization, contribute to the development of research skills, increase the activity and sense of responsibility of students, and give them experience in organizational and publishing activities. Participants in student scientific circles can later choose to become scientists or teachers, which helps support the staff of higher education institutions.

Specialized Academic Council

The department is the base for the specialized academic council D 050.60.07 for the defense of dissertations in the following specialties:

• 05.13.06 – Information Technologies;
• 05.13.07 – Automation of Management Processes.
