Sociology – is a social science that systematically studies society, human social behavior, patterns of social relationships, social interaction, and aspects of culture associated with everyday life. Originating in the 1930s and 1940s, it is a modern discipline that evolved from social philosophy. Being a subject with multiple research approaches, it is mainly concerned with quantitative and humanistic methods of empirical theory of Scientology, which are opposed to each other, interconnect and together create a system of knowledge about structure and activities of human society, with the main objective of using this knowledge to seek or improve social welfare.

Before starting studying sociology, I studied music education. Most people would keep learning and improving in one direction, but this method has its cons – the overall vision of the World is limited. Last year I had a good opportunity to participate in the international scientific and practical conference “Youth Sociological Forum of NTU KhPI ”, organized online by the National Technical University “Kharkiv Polytechnic Institute ” where I presented my thesis. That was the very moment when I learned about the charm of Sociology, and so became interested in it. After a simple acquaintance of sociology, I understood how broad it is. It can help me better understand this society and expand my knowledge, change my mind and vision, broaden my horizons. Being a comprehensive discipline that studies social facts, it covers a lot of different events and directions in society. I believe that obtaining a master degree in Sociology will surely give me full, more perceptions and different insights.

Coming to NTU KhPI for studying, I fell in love not only with the school, but also with its teachers. Professors Moroz, Tereshenko, Gorshko and Kruhlov are not only professional and responsible, but also very friendly and patient, especially professor Moroz. Although right now classes are held online, the quality of classes is still very high. Professor Moroz does only teach us, but also regulates the atmosphere of the course by encouraging us to share ideas and express ourselves. I feel lucky to be able to meet a teacher with such care. I am very grateful to all teachers for not giving up our education in such a difficult time for the country. You are really great! I hope the war ends sooner, and we will be able to meet! Looking forward to meeting you!
