ICoRSE 2025 has concluded — KhPI represented with distinction!

Today, September 6, 2025, the International Conference on Reliable Systems Engineering (ICoRSE 2025) successfully concluded in Bucharest a major platform for discussing innovations in reliable systems, mechatronics, digital technologies, and applied mechanics (icorseng.eu).

We are proud that among the organizers and active participants of the conference were faculty members from our department:

  • Professor Serhii Dobrotvorskyi member of the organizational committee, an active representative of the university in global collaborations.

  • Associate Professor Yevheniia Basova member of the scientific committee, a driving force in representing KhPI in the international scientific dialogue.

📖 During the conference (September 5–6), 38 scientific papers were presented, 9 of which were co-authored with NTU “KhPI”, including research by our faculty members, demonstrating the high level of competence and international integration of our department:

  • The topics covered are digitalization and 3D modeling in manufacturing, energy efficiency optimization of industrial equipment, modeling and analysis of dynamic processes, and the application of advanced materials in production.

  • Participation in international collaborations highlights the significant contribution of our department to global scientific processes.

💙💛 We sincerely congratulate our colleagues on their successful work at the conference and express our pride that the Department of Manufacturing Technology and Metal-Cutting Machines is a key driving force of KhPI in the development of international science.

🔹 NTU “KhPI” Lecturers Joined the International JICA Project “Industrial Technology Education for Ukraine” 🔹

From May to November 2024, Associate Professors Yevheniia Basova and Maryna Ivanova (Department of Mechanical Engineering Technology and Metal-Cutting Machines), together with Associate Professor Alona Tulska (Department of Petroleum, Gas and Solid Fuel Processing Technology) participated in the international educational project implemented by the Japanese agency JICA in partnership with the ESD Consortium in Aichi.

During six months, KhPI lecturers attended 16 online seminars delivered by leading Japanese experts, including Professors Hidetoshi Miyakawa, Naomi Hisanaga, and Makoto Iwasaki. The topics covered a wide range of issues – from the use of molecular hydrogen in medicine to innovations in mechatronics, robotics, and industrial technologies.

💡 The participants not only deepened their knowledge but also presented their own ideas on introducing new approaches to technical education in Ukraine. The acquired experience will be integrated into NTU “KhPI” educational programs, contributing to the training of a new generation of engineers.

📌 The project united representatives of leading Ukrainian technical universities: NTU “KhPI”, Lutsk National Technical University, and Sumy State University. The Ukrainian participation was coordinated by Professor Vitalii Ivanov (SumDU).

NTU “KhPI” sincerely thanks the JICA agency, in particular:

  • Mr. Toru UEMACHI – Director General;

  • Ms. Hisae IKEDA – Director of Training Program Division;

  • Ms. Chie SUZUKI – Chief of Training Program Division;

  • Professor Hidetoshi Miyakawa and the team of lecturers – for their contribution to the development of technical education in Ukraine.

🔸 Participation in JICA became an important step in shaping modern approaches to engineering education, especially relevant in the context of wartime challenges and future recovery of Ukraine.

Department of Mechanical Engineering Technology and Metal-Cutting Machines of NTU “KhPI” at ICIE’2025

The Department of Mechanical Engineering Technology and Metal-Cutting Machines of Kharkiv Polytechnic made a significant contribution to the organization and scientific content of the International Conference on Innovations in Engineering (ICIE’2025), which took place at the Czech University of Life Sciences in Prague (CZU Prague).

Associate Professors Yevheniia Basova and Maryna Ivanova, representing our department, acted as moderators of scientific sessions devoted to new engineering materials, digital modeling, tribology, and sustainable solutions in mechanical engineering.

At the initiative of our researchers, a specialized session SS7 “Sustainable Development: Digitalization and 3D Information in Manufacturing Systems” was organized, which became one of the key platforms of ICIE’2025 in the field of Industry 4.0/5.0. The session highlighted digitalization, digital twins, AR/VR technologies, the Internet of Things, and modern approaches to sustainable development.

KhPI researchers, together with European colleagues, submitted a number of papers, 6 of which were accepted for publication in Springer (LNME, indexed in Scopus and Web of Science).

Two joint papers prepared with the participation of our department’s staff received bronze awards in the main nominations of the conference:

  • Combined Effect of Laser-Textured Surfaces and Lubricant Additives on Improving Tribological Characteristics of Titanium Alloys” (P. Zawadzki, S. Dobrotvorskiy, Y. Basova, D. Trubin, R. Talar) Springer link.

  • Prospects for the Use of Hydrocarbon Waste as Raw Materials for the Production of Lubricating Greases” (A. Grigorov, A. Tulska, S. Slipchenko, G. Santos, M. Brillinger) Springer link.
