Training of third-level higher education seekers, Doctor of Philosophy degree, is carried out in postgraduate studies in full-time (day, evening) or part-time form of study. Our department provides training of specialists in the specialty F1 “Applied Mathematics” (educational and scientific program “Applied Mathematics”).
You can find more detailed information about the content of the educational program on the website of the postgraduate department.
For more details on the postgraduate admission process, please visit the website of the postgraduate department of NTU “KhPI” and the website of the central admissions committee of NTU “KhPI” . The postgraduate department’s website also includes the entrance exam program.
During the period of study in postgraduate school, the postgraduate student is required to: fulfill all the requirements of the educational and scientific program, acquire theoretical knowledge, skills, abilities, and other competencies sufficient to generate new ideas and solve complex problems in the field of professional and/or research and innovation activities, master the methodology of scientific and pedagogical activities, conduct their own scientific research, the results of which have scientific novelty, theoretical and/or practical significance, and defend their dissertation.
All details regarding the licensed enrollment quota for the current year, rules and procedures for admission, training, preparation, and defense of a dissertation can be found on the website of the Postgraduate Department of NTU “KhPI”.

Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor
Professor of the Department of Computer Modeling of Processes and Systems, NTU “KhPI”
Research profile: Research focuses on Solid Mechanics, Continuum Damage Mechanics, and the development of new software tools for Mechanical Engineering and industry. Is the author of the theory of the creep of solids subjected to cyclic thermo-mechanical and irradiation loading involving the accumulation of hidden damage in material. These theoretical developments have been applied to strength analyses of gas turbine engine components, reactor vessel internals, and coke oven batteries. Specific research areas include assessing the deformation and strength of UAV panels, including those made from metamaterials, and determining the thermal and stress-strain states of aerospace equipment components. Is the author of specialized software for the finite-element modeling of 2D and 3D as well as shells of revolution problems, and a co-author of software for information systems designed to analyze the physical and mechanical properties of steels and alloys.

Professor of the Department of Computer Modeling of Processes and Systems, NTU “KhPI”
Email: Yurii.Andrieiev@khpi.edu.ua
Research profile: Scientific research is related to the development and implementation of analytical computer algorithms and programs in the field of multibody discrete mechanical systems with planar and spatial motions with geometric and kinematic constraints, including nonholonomic, unilateral, and nonstationary constraints. Nowadays, these are various robotic systems – spatial manipulators, walking and other transport robots. Such algorithms include analytical computer algorithms for solving direct and inverse kinematics problems of spatial mechanisms of modern robots, calculations of steady-state and transient dynamic processes in such mechanisms and machines, and implementation of such algorithms in the developed special computer algebra system SCAS KiDyM.
