From May 13–16, 2026, the National Technical University “Kharkiv Polytechnic Institute” hosted the 34th International Scientific and Practical Conference “Information Technologies: Science, Engineering, Technology, Education, Health” (MicroCAD-2026). The event was supported by the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine and co-organized by leading European higher education institutions: the University of Miskolc (Hungary), the Warsaw and Poznań Universities of Technology (Poland), Otto von Guericke University Magdeburg (Germany), Petrosani University (Romania), St. Clement of Ohrid University of Sofia (Bulgaria), and INTI International University (Malaysia). The conference was organized into 12 sections. The Educational and Scientific Institute of Social and Humanitarian Technologies at NTU “KhPI” led the work of Section 8, “Problems and Prospects of the Informatization of Society,” which consisted of three subsections; the largest of these in terms of the number of presenters was Subsection 8.1, “Information and Social-Humanitarian Technologies: Current Issues” (Chair – Head of the Department of Ukrainian Studies, Cultural Studies, and History of Science, Prof. Olena Tverytnykova; Secretary – Assoc. Prof. Svitlana Telukha). The work of the sub-section was distinguished by its interdisciplinary focus and emphasis on researching contemporary issues in the humanities within the context of the development of the information society.
The topics of the presentations covered the analysis of the interaction between information technology and social, cultural, and educational processes, as well as issues related to digitalization, communication, the humanities-based assessment of technology, and the transformation of society under the influence of innovation. Particular attention was paid to the role of information systems in shaping social practices, the development of education, and the integration of humanities knowledge with technological solutions.
