Dmitry Savenkov, in 2004 received a master’s degree with honors in the specialty “Applied Mathematics” at the Department of System Analysis and Information and Analytical Technologies. While still studying at the university, he began working at the telecommunications company “Iskratel” as a software developer for PBXs and IP phones. Then he worked at QArea, Ciklum and others, where he went from developer to technical leader and project manager of several development teams.

In 2015, he headed a large structural unit at the company “Mirantis”, where he managed the Core Components team for the IAAS platform called OpenStack. He gave speeches at a number of “OpenStack” summits in Canada, Japan, etc. In parallel, he organized his own business, developed the antivirus product “Defender Pro”, in connection with which he lived for some time in the city of Victoria, which is the capital of British Columbia – the largest municipal district in Canada.

Since 2019, he has worked as a manager and solutions architect in leading IT companies SoftServe, Livegenic, Andersen. Currently, he works as a senior solutions architect and technical product owner (Senior Solutions Architect/Technical Product Owner) at GlobalLogic: he manages a number of projects and initiatives, creates prototypes of future solutions, educates young specialists, etc.

In parallel with his career in the IT industry, he was professionally involved in billiards and snooker, in 2012 he received the category of international snooker referee, refereed a number of European and world-level snooker championships.

Dmytro is also fond of foreign languages, is fluent in English and German, and worked as a translator at the National Transportation Safety Board, an agency of the US Federal Government that investigates civil transport accidents.

He has visited more than 30 countries: Europe, the Asia-Pacific region, North and South America, in particular, he was in Cuba, Venezuela, and Australia. He lived the longest in the USA, Canada, and Great Britain. He currently lives in Ukraine, having decided not to leave the country during a difficult time for it.

Dmytro chose the statement of the famous hero of Anthony Hopkins, Hannibal Lecter, as his life motto: “There is nothing more interesting than learning about new things.”
