On April 18, 2025, the plenary session of the All-Ukrainian Scientific and Theoretical Conference of Students and Postgraduates ‘UKRAINE AND THE WORLD: HUMANITARIAN AND TECHNICAL ELITE AND SOCIAL PROGRESS’ (dedicated to the 140th anniversary of NTU “KhPI”), in the organisation and conduct of which the teachers of the department took part.
The organising committee of the conference was headed by the scientific secretary, associate professor Yaroslav Motenko, who also moderated the plenary session. After the opening of the conference by the Director of the Institute of Agricultural Technology of NTU ‘KPI’ Andrii Volodymyrovych Kipenskyi, the floor was given to the chairmen or secretaries of each of the nine sections to greet the participants. Associate professors Yevheniia Konstantinivna Shyshkina and Olha Volodymyrivna Haidamachuk greeted the participants from the department. The main part of the meeting was devoted to discussing the reports of the delegated representatives of each of the nine sections.
As part of this conference, the Department of Ukrainian Studies, Cultural Studies and History of Science traditionally led three of the nine sections.
Section 2 ‘Actual Problems of the History of Ukraine’, headed by Associate Professors Yevheniia Konstiantynivna Shyshkina and Ihor Volodymyrovych Dvorkin, was presented by the Department’s postgraduate student Volodymyr Kramskyi with a report on ‘The main directions of research in the field of digital historical games’ (supervisor – Associate Professor Yevheniia K. Shyshkina).
Section 3 ‘Spiritual Culture of Ukraine: Traditions and Modernity’, headed by Associate Professor Nataliia Fradkina and postgraduate student Yuliia Stadnik, was presented by Diana Klishchuk with a report on ‘Artists of the KhPI: Mykola Burachek’ (supervisor – Professor M. M. Krasikov).
Section 8. ‘History of Science and Technology‘, headed by Professor Olena Tveritnikova and Associate Professor Olha Haidamachuk, was presented by postgraduate student Heorhii Saprykin with a report on “The journal ”Polytechnic’ as a reflection of the scientific progress of NTU ‘KhPI’ researchers in the field of electrical engineering’ (supervisor – Associate Professor I. V. Dvorkin) and postgraduate student Oleksandr S. Svichkar with a report on ‘Academician Anton Walter as a person (on the pages of Kharkiv newspapers)’ (supervisor – Professor I. Y. Robak).
