On 29 October 2025, as part of the XVII International Exhibition ‘Innovation in Modern Education’, an online event was held — a round table on the topic ‘Development of Social and Humanitarian Education at NTU “KhPI”: to the 140th anniversary of the university’. The event was opened by Olena Tverytnykova, Doctor of Historical Sciences, Professor, Head of the Department of Ukrainian Studies, Cultural Studies and History of Science at NTU ‘KhPI’. In her report ‘The Educational and Scientific Institute of Social and Humanitarian Technologies as an Intellectual Centre for the Humanisation of Technical Education,’ she outlined the key stages in the formation of the institute, its role in shaping the humanities space of the technical university, and its contribution to the development of the educational tradition of the National Technical University ‘Kharkiv Polytechnic Institute.’ The discussion on ‘Current Problems and Trends in the Development of Modern Social and Humanitarian Education in Technical Higher Education Institutions’ was attended by the director of the Institute of Social and Humanitarian Technologies, Prof. Kipenskyi, Prof. Tverytnikova, the head of the Department of Philosophy, Assoc. Prof. Gorodyska, Head of the Department of Pedagogy and Psychology of Social Systems Management named after Academician I.A. Ziazun, Prof. Pidbutskaya N.V., lecturers, postgraduate students, masters and students of the departments of the Institute of Social and Humanitarian Sciences, various aspects of the problem of integrating humanities knowledge into technical education were considered.
