The Pomeranian University in Słupsk

Students of the Department of Chemical Engineering and Industrial Ecology periodically participate in a semester exchange programme between universities. The training takes place at the Pomeranian University in Słupsk, in the north of Poland.

Under the multi-year Cooperation Agreement between the Pomeranian University in Słupsk and NTU “KPI”, which, after 5 years, was extended again in 2021, qualified training of environmental students is carried out, aimed at protecting and restoring the nature of neighbouring and friendly countries. The Agreement also defines cooperation in the educational, methodological and scientific spheres. The agreement provides for the exchange of information and experience in the educational process, the exchange of lecturers for lectures, and individual students for the preparation of graduation papers. In the scientific area, the agreement provides for the possibility of scientific internships, including those involving postgraduate students.

Olga Shcholokova, who was a semester exchange student at the University from 10.10.2021 to 24.01.2022, shared her impressions of studying at the Pomeranian University and the Department of CTPE with the applicants.

The distinctive feature of the educational programme is the acquisition of high-quality, specialised knowledge and world-class experience away from the hustle and bustle of the metropolis.

During a semester of study, students have time to do a lot of practical work in modern laboratories, visit the botanical garden, museums and parks, and learn Polish. They also complete a field practice on the outskirts of the city, examine water and soil samples, and gain practical bioindication skills.

The campus is not just a place to live, it is a great opportunity to immerse yourself in student life and become part of the Academy itself. During their stay in Słupsk, students actively participate in the events held at the University.

Students who study at the Pomeranian University (Słupsk, Poland) under an agreement between universities are happy to study environmental disciplines and speak highly of the Polish education system, dormitory conditions and leisure activities.

The best memories of studying at the Pomeranian University in 2019 and a lot of beautiful photos were brought back by students of the group MIT-117c students Kamila Cherniakova and Yulia Dontsova, who had time to travel on weekends.

A great impression of studying at the University was received by students of the group MIT-M119 students Alina Ratke and Mikhail Vdovitsa, who have just returned from Słupsk. In addition to knowledge, they gained good skills in communicating with different people in a foreign language, and learnt about the history and culture of Poland.
