On May 18, the Department of Software Engineering and Management Information Technologies held the defense of Master’s theses of educational and scientific programs 121 “Software Engineering” and 126 “Information Systems Software”.
Under the conditions of distance learning introduced for the period of quarantine, defence took place in the framework of a video conference. This did not prevent the presentation of student research works and the professional work of the Committee members.
Yelizaveta Chistopolova, a student of the specialty “Information Systems and Technologies”, participated in the Double Diploma Program, an agreement on which NTU “KhPI” signed with the University of Klagenfurt (Austria) in 2017. In this regard, the scientific video conference on the topic of the research work was attended by the Austrian side, Professor Andreas Bollini, and his colleague Professor Tilman Reuter. Yelizaveta successfully presented the work devoted to the ontological approach to the classification for the results of studies in Computer Sciences, and answered all the questions of the Committee.
Note that the SEMIT department has already had experience in research works defence with partnership of European colleagues: in 2018, students of the specialty “Software Engineering” also presented their diploma projects to professors from the University of Klagenfurt who watched it in a live broadcast mode.
