At the end of December 2023, the final of the STEM Championship of Kharkiv in natural and mathematical sciences among high school students took place in the bomb shelter of NTU “KhPI”.
The winning teams from 9 districts of Kharkiv took part in the competition. The competition was held in the form of quizzes on the following topics: chemistry, physics, mathematics, IT and history of Kharkiv.
The questions for the Kahoot-quiz were compiled by the scientists of Kharkiv Polytechnic, in particular, the questions from the IT department “Software Engineering and Management Intelligent Technologies” (SEMIT), which trains future IT specialists in educational programs:
– 121 «Software Engineering»;
– 122 «Computer Sciences and Intelligent Systems».
The IT field was represented in the final of the STEM championship by the head of the department, associate professor Andriy Kopp, who asked high school students interesting questions about algorithms and data structures, programming, operating systems, computer networks and other areas of information technology.
The contribution to the organization and holding of the STEM Championship of Kharkiv was marked by the Rector’s Certificate.
The block with questions on information technology was the final and decisive one in the competition!
According to the results of the championship, the first place was taken by the team #18_Kittens (#18), Kholodnohirskyi district, the second place – IMPULSE161 (#161), Nemyshlianskyi district, and the third place – One for all (#82) – Slobidskyi district.
The STEM Championship of Kharkiv was organized by NTU “KhPI” and supported by the Kharkiv City Council.
